Ingredients
  

  • 10 medium-sized potatoes
  • ¾ cup milk (2 dl)
  • 2 tbsp butter (30 g)
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp ground pepper
  • 0.25 tsp grated nutmeg

Instructions
 

Boil the potatoes

  • Peel 10 medium-sized potatoes and cut into chunks. Boil in unsalted water until tender—about 15–20 minutes. Drain well.

Heat the milk

  • While the potatoes cook, gently heat 2 dl milk (200 ml / ¾ cup + 1 tbsp) until just below boiling.

Mash and mix

  • Mash the hot potatoes until smooth. Stir in 2 tbsp (30 g) butter, then gradually add the warm milk while stirring, until creamy and smooth.

Season to finish

  • Add 0.5 tsp salt, 0.5 tsp pepper, and 0.25 tsp grated nutmeg. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
